My name is Gil Polk and I am an award-winning songwriter and actor who recently graduated summa cum laude from Eastern Gateway Community College. In addition to working as a fundraiser for a Broadway theatre while pursuing my first bachelor’s degree with a field concentration in English, I am also currently developing an online course under the guidance of world-renowned author Bill O’Hanlon.
Through my course I plan to lead people through fun and transformative acting exercises and games. I’ve developed a practice of improv for non-actors that can reduce paralyzing perfectionism. This can also offer relief from second guessing so they can trust their intuitive answers more often.
My hope is that people will experience a deeper connection to their passions and purpose, feel more ease, relief, and happiness in their daily lives, and learn to more fully trust themselves and others.
As a songwriter, the field of concentration in English will allow me to practice creative writing and poetry which will make me a better lyricist. I write different styles of music ranging from full pop songs to piano solos, and I love the collaboration process. Licensing music is a huge and growing industry because of the abundance of scripted shows on all of the streaming platforms as well as major and cable networks, all of which need songs and instrumental music for their projects.
I have mastered the business of music licensing and can deliver pre-cleared songs in a professional manner and within one stop. I am able to do this because I retain control through the permission of all of my collaborators for signing off on any contracts, and this makes the days easier for the decision makers like music supervisors and agents who will license my music. It is up to me to supply great pre-cleared music.
